Welcome to backtoyou.org.uk
The world¹s first Object Amnesty.
You found. You kept it. You need to give it back.

Have you found/bought/borrowed/stolen something that sort of became your own? Except for that nagging little voice that tells you; "That really belongs to your mate or even a stranger!".

We want to free everyone of those little voices with this guilt-free, weight-off-your-mind place for all those borrowed jumpers, found jumpers and never given Christmas gifts to find their way home.

STEP ONE:
Take a pic or make a sketch of your object and write a little bit on how you came to baby-sit it.

STEP TWO:
Post it here using:

email: simply attach an image of the object and send to backtoyou(at)moblog(dot)net

MMS: If you're in the UK, you can picture message it from your phone. Just send it to: 07786201241 with the word back at the start of your message. If you are outside the UK and are sending via MMS just create your MMS as normal and then instead of sending it to the number above, change the input from numbers to letters and send it to the email address above.

Browser: To upload via your web browser, simply join the site using the Join link at the top of the sidebar and once logged in use the 'post' button.

STEP THREE:
Sit back and wait for it to be claimed, basking in your Karmic glow.

Why?

It¹ll make you feel better! Discover how you feel when you give back that fiver you borrowed but never repaid. What will happen when you reunite those stolen ice-lollies with the corner shop that has since been demolished? Or just sketch a pic of that book you lent and never saw again and who knows, it might just come back to you. Get moblogging and steal yourself a virtual moment of 100% honest headspace.

The Bigger Picture

It¹s our dream to be able to come to you in schools, libraries, community centres and your workplace so that we can release hundreds, maybe thousands
of objects and have Object Amnesties all over the UK during break time. We'll keep you posted of developments via our forum (coming soon).

Red Flag Limbo

Peter- I gave this painting by Iraj to you on my 30th birthday in London - somehow it hasn't made it across the water yet: new year's resolution number 1 is to get it from Newcastle to Dublin asap. Here's back to you kid! X

Bespoke Santa

(viewed 91 times)
In this current Winter Wonderland I would like to take advantage of your amnesty, just like Hannibal Hayes, by coming clean over some tree rustling. We never took the whole tree & noone got shot- me & Tosh offered bespoke Christmas Trees to schools, old folks homes, cricket clubs & delivered the required length of tree to the customer- i.e. we lopped off the top 10/15 feet - as per order- we left the bottom 20 feet standing- so Dene Forest Wardens...Happy Christmas. War "Mr. Modo" is over.x

Sweet Cigs

(viewed 98 times)
For you Mrs G. I knew if I asked you for a tin of baked beans you'd have to go all the way to the back of the shop which gave me exactly 40 seconds to run behind the counter and grab a handful of sweet cigarette boxes. I want you to have them back.

Pit Pony Charm

(viewed 100 times)
When I was 4, I was a page boy at a wedding but when the time came to hand over the lucky horseshoe I didn't want to let it go- so I didn't. My dad had always promised he would bring back a pit pony from the mines if I was a good boy, so I figured I'd save the horseshoe for it. The bride never did get her lucky charm- I hope the marriage worked out.

Whose Money?

(viewed 94 times)
When I was 18 I borrowed a tenner from a friend and never gave it back. When she asked me for it, I pretended I didn't have it but I did. I was paying her dad rent for a room in student digs at the time - I think that if she hadn't collected the monthly rent for her dad, I would have repaid her no problem. It has been on and off my mind for years.
