Welcome to backtoyou.org.uk
The world¹s first Object Amnesty.
You found. You kept it. You need to give it back.

Have you found/bought/borrowed/stolen something that sort of became your own? Except for that nagging little voice that tells you; "That really belongs to your mate or even a stranger!".

We want to free everyone of those little voices with this guilt-free, weight-off-your-mind place for all those borrowed jumpers, found jumpers and never given Christmas gifts to find their way home.

STEP ONE:
Take a pic or make a sketch of your object and write a little bit on how you came to baby-sit it.

STEP TWO:
Post it here using:

email: simply attach an image of the object and send to backtoyou(at)moblog(dot)net

MMS: If you're in the UK, you can picture message it from your phone. Just send it to: 07786201241 with the word back at the start of your message. If you are outside the UK and are sending via MMS just create your MMS as normal and then instead of sending it to the number above, change the input from numbers to letters and send it to the email address above.

Browser: To upload via your web browser, simply join the site using the Join link at the top of the sidebar and once logged in use the 'post' button.

STEP THREE:
Sit back and wait for it to be claimed, basking in your Karmic glow.

Why?

It¹ll make you feel better! Discover how you feel when you give back that fiver you borrowed but never repaid. What will happen when you reunite those stolen ice-lollies with the corner shop that has since been demolished? Or just sketch a pic of that book you lent and never saw again and who knows, it might just come back to you. Get moblogging and steal yourself a virtual moment of 100% honest headspace.

The Bigger Picture

It¹s our dream to be able to come to you in schools, libraries, community centres and your workplace so that we can release hundreds, maybe thousands
of objects and have Object Amnesties all over the UK during break time. We'll keep you posted of developments via our forum (coming soon).

I got a designer to make these beautiful glass fish lovers as a wedding gift for my sister but on the night the statue was firing in the kiln, I met my now ex-boyfriend, so I kept it. Everytime I see it, I think of my sister- not my ex. It has always belonged to her.

What a story! It's got everything - intrigue, romance and a twist.

Hi JC - good to virtually meet you! Soon we are going live with a website backtoyou.org.uk - it's a site to enable people to return objects to their rightful owners - a kind of Object Anmesty for objects that have been bought or found and kept, or stolen and eaten or lost! Instructions about sending MMS to the moblog site will be up soon. Look out for it. I'd love to hear your object story!

Nice to meet you too! Your site sounds brilliant - and a service i need! For my 18th birthday my parents gave me a book each, both with inscriptions on the inside cover. One was an excellent translation (eknath easwaran of the Bhagavad Gita which is now one of my favourite stories ever. I leant both to friends at the time (i dont know why I leant such obviously personal items but i did), lost them, and consequently will never lend books again. On the one hand, losing them makes me treasure them more, but on the other am slightly sad as i'm sure my mum is unhappy about it. I know who i leant my mums to but have never seen them again since moving jobs. Have always wondered if one day they'll boomerang back to me... gonna keep my fingers crossed now :)

Hey JC, what a lovely idea! We're gonna add that you can also post a sketch of the books you lent or your feelings about them and put it up there...who knows ..they may come back to you yet!
